Wendy came to WKYT 27 NEWSFIRST in June of 2008. Born and raised in Southern California, she earned her Journalism degree from California State University, Northridge with a minor in Biology. Her journey to the Bluegrass began a couple of years ago when she decided to pursue a career outside of broadcasting, and she applied to the University of Kentucky's College of Nursing. Upon her acceptance to UK, Wendy and her family moved 2,800 miles from Medford, Oregon where she was working as an anchor, reporter and producer at KOBI.
Wendy has always had a fascination with the medical field and hopes to one day be able to combine the skills she's learned in broadcasting with those she's soon to learn in nursing. She feels that continuing to work as a reporter while going back to school will provide a unique and challenging balance in her life.
Wendy is an avid horse lover and has ridden dressage most of her life. When she's not reporting the news of the day, you'll either find her at the barn with her two retired dressage horses or enjoying time with her family.
