Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Janet promised to return to the Southeast after moving to Texas with her family. She is now excited to call Lexington her home!
Janet comes to WKYT 27 NEWSFIRST from KDRV in Medford, Oregon, where she worked as a weekend anchor and reporter. Before that, she served as the station's Klamath Falls Bureau Chief.
Janet graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a triple major. She has a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communication Studies, and English. She also has a minor in Business.
Janet spent a semester in Washington D.C. at American University and interned at C-SPAN. While in college, she wrote for the Daily Texan, reported for the university's radio and television stations, and interned at television stations in Austin and Washington, D.C. She also worked as an editor for Dialogue magazine, a publication for the blind.
Janet loves learning new languages. She studied Spanish for 8 years and is fluent in Korean. When Janet is not reporting, she enjoys eating out and spending time with family and friends.
