I feel so lucky to be in central Kentucky-- one of the most beautiful places in the country.

My (then fiance, now husband) was transferred to Danville with Caterpillar . When he first told me about the possibility of a transfer I was nervous but when he said it was to the Bluegrass state, I was excited and ready for the move. I am a huge country music fan and I love the outdoors so where better to be than here?

We have relocated to northern Garrard County. I grew up in a small rural town in Illinois called Abingdon and this area feels just like home.

My mom always said I was going to have a career in broadcasting because I loved to talk. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 1996.

I started working in radio in 1992 in Galesburg IL and got my first full time job right out of college doing radio in Peoria IL . Shortly after that I got into TV in Peoria at WMBD. That took me to Madison WI where I was working as an anchor/reporter for WBUW/WMTV.

In 2000, I won the title of Miss Illinois-USA and had the chance to compete for miss USA in Branson Missouri. That was a experience I won't soon forget.

In my spare time, I enjoy boating and just lounging spending time on the water. My husband is big into camping and fishing and I've liking them too. When the winter gets here, skiing is my thing. I could spend all day everyday on the slopes.

I have one brother who's five years younger and is like a built in best friend. My mom works out of her home and my dad is a country singer and a truck driver-- can't get much more Americana than that.

My family remains in west central Illinois, but since they've seen the Bluegrass state, they've already been talking about a change!

We have a beautiful Chesapeak Bay Retriever dog named Magellan...he's about 100 lbs and thinks he's a lap dog. We also have an older calico cat named Callie. She doesn't like the dog much, so with the two of them together in the house, I spend a lot my time keeping them separated.
