My love for weather can be traced back to my early childhood. My parents tell stories of me standing at a window watching thunderstorms and snowstorms for hours on end. This at the age of two! My fascination with weather continued to grow over the years. I remember going to my local library in Salyersville, where I grew up, and checking out every weather book they had. When I was a fifth grader, my quest to become a Television Meteorologist began. That's when I was selected as a weather watcher for my hometown. The Person who selected me... none other than our late friend Brian Collins.

Speaking of my hometown, I try to get back to Salyersville as much as possible. My parents and most of my family still live there. While I may live in Lexington, that will always be home to me.

I graduated from Magoffin County High School and from there attended Prestonsburg Community College. After a few years of classes there, I transferred to Morehead State University. I graduated from MSU in 1997 with a B.A. degree in Communications with an emphasis in Electronic Media News. Morehead State will always hold a special place in my heart. That's where I met my beautiful wife Scarlett. We were married in June, 2000 and recently became parents for the first time. Wynter Madoline looks just like her mom (thank goodness) and is the most precious gift I have ever received.

After working on my Masters degree at MSU, I decided it was time to join the ranks of the working class. I was hired as an associate producer at WKYT in August 1998. Soon after, I started as the weekend weather anchor in February 1999. That's when I also started work on my Meteorology degree. In the summer of 2002, I graduated from Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology Program. I am a member of the National Weather Association (NWA) and the Amercian Meteorological Society (AMS).You can currently watch my forecasts on WKYT each weekday at noon, 12:30 and 5:30.

Feel free to e-mail me anytime and don't forget to read my weather blog which I regularly update. Thanks for watching!
