Some say you can never go home, but after spending a year and half away I am back and thankful to be close to all those folks who watched me grow up and working for the station who put the love of news in my soul.

A central Kentucky girl at heart, having grown up in the center of horse country in the small town of Cynthiana, mountains were no part of my back drop. But, the mountains of eastern Kentucky are a special and unique place that I found out about first hand. I was once told in college that once you go to the mountains you never come back and that has held true in my life.

After completing graduation at Morehead State University in the spring of 2003 I landed my first job in the mountains of eastern Kentucky. There I took a job I had dreamed of all my life. I became the morning anchor for our sister station WYMT in Hazard..

From my days as a little girl pretending that I was bringing the evening news to my audience of stuffed animals, to my days as a teenage radio disc jockey, I was now a journalist working hard to bring light to the issues that matter most to those in eastern Kentucky.

Just a short year and a half later the rest of my childhood dreams were coming true and I landed a spot here at WKYT, where now I can work to bring to light the issues that matter most to the people of central kentucky as a nightside reporter. You will find me out and about gathering news for the evening newscast.

In my spare time you will find me with my family who is the center of my life. And if not with them, you can find me tuned in to either the Food Network or Home and Garden TV or in a pile of pictures scrap booking the hours away!
