After growing up in Rome, New York I got my first taste of broadcasting at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. There I enjoyed the experience of broadcasting Butler football and basketball games for the student radio station.
Before graduating in 1972 I landed my first job reading afternoon newscasts on WXLW Radio in Indianapolis. Looking for a full time job I traveled to Lima, Ohio to work as News and Sports Director of WCIT Radio. There I broadcast high school football and basketball and did Bowling Green football in 1973.
My first move into television came in 1974 when I was named Sports Director of WLIO-TV, a small NBC affiliate in Lima. After two and a half years there I was headed to WKYT-TV in 1977 and Lexington would become my home.
Anchoring weekend sportscasts I worked with Denny Trease for three years and then assumed Denny's duties when he departed for Kansas City. Since March of 1980 I haved anchored the weeknight sportscasts on WKYT. I have been a member of the UKTV Network since 1980, handling play-by-play, sideline and color commentary on football and basketball.
Duties on the UK Network have also included coaches shows with Fran Curci, Joe B. Hall, Jerry Claiborne, Eddie Sutton, Bill Curry, Rick Pitino, Hal Mumme and Tubby Smith.
My wife Mary Diane and I have been married since 1988. We have one son Robbie who was born August 2, 1991. Our cat's name is Buceille.
