From the time I was a small child, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life; and for that matter, where I wanted to work. Growing up, my parents always watched the 11 o'clock news on WKYT before going to bed. One night when I was about eight years old, I told my dad that I was going to work at Channel 27 some day. My dad admits he didn't pay much attention to my prediction then, but some 20 years later, he watched as my dream became a reality. I've always been facinated with broadcasting. I can remember pulling out a 1975 Cincinnati Reds yearbook, which had a play-by-play account of that memorable World Series, and recording my own play by play for my dad to listen to. In elementary school, I'd go to the library and put on headphones. But instead of listening to audio tapes, I'd pretend to be Cawood Ledford. Again....just a little boy with big dreams. I'm very proud of where I'm from. I was born and raised in Morgan County. And even though I now live in Fleming County (near Cave Run Lake), West Liberty will always be my hometown. For the past six years, I've covered high school sports for the town's newspaper, The Licking Valley Courier, as well as freelance video work for the high school sports teams. One of my proudest moments came in 2004 when the Morgan County Cougars made their first appearance in the Boys' Sweet 16 in the program's 82 year history. Like many of my collegues at WKYT and WYMT, I'm a graduate of Morehead State University. I started at Channel 27 in 1997 as a video editor. Seven years later, I started covering eastern Kentucky as a news reporter out of our new Morehead bureau. In early 2007, I moved full-time into sports. My faith and family are the most important things in life. The day that changed my life came when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I attend Johnson First Church of God in Morehead and am actively involved with many functions at Lakeside Christian Academy. My wife, Joan, and I have been married for 16 years. We've been blessed with a beautiful daughter, Taylor, 14.
