I am a Tennessean and small town girl at heart. I grew up in White Pine Tennessee and went to high school at Jefferson County High. My family has always lived in White Pine. I have one older brother. We have always been close and continue to be even though we may be miles apart.
I moved away to Murfreesboro Tennessee to go to college at Middle Tennessee State University. I studied broadcast journalism there and was very involved in my college ministry. The journalism program allowed me to have hands-on experience on our college TV station, MT10.
During my time in Murfreesboro, I was an intern for one of the top stations in Nashville, WTVF News Channel 5. There I was able to learn from the best, and picked up many skills that I use today. I started in the news department for a year then moved to the web department, where I learned how to write for the always changing world of online news.
I was blessed with a job at WYMT-TV right before graduating. I am excited to see where my career will take me. My time in Eastern Kentucky has already proven to be very valuable, and I firmly believe it will continue to make me great at my job. I look forward to serving these mountains to the best of my ability.
