I’m a Georgia boy that’s found his way up to Eastern Kentucky and I’m very excited to be a part of the Mountain News family.
I graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, minoring in Public/Political Speech. I have been blessed with several opportunities to learn and grow when it comes to the field of journalism. Last summer I attended a two week delegation on journalism in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. It gave me greater respect for growing up in a country where free speech is a guarantee. I was also accepted into the “Semester in Washington Journalism Program” at George Washington University. I lived in the heart of our nation’s capital for two months while taking a journalism course at GWU and interning with WJLA-TV’s “I-Team.” It was such a wonderful experience and I gained great insight into Investigative Journalism. Most recently, I interned in the News and Public Affairs Departments with WSB-TV in Atlanta.
I can’t wait to get out and explore the beautiful Appalachians of Eastern Kentucky. In my free time I enjoy reading a good book and I’m always up for a game of tennis.
I’m a curious journalist at heart and take the job very seriously (even though I’m goofy in nature…don’t worry, the two mix well). I’m always interested in hearing people’s stories, so feel free to shoot me an email!
