I have traded in the Ozark Mountains for the Appalachian Mountains. I was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. Thanks to a wonderful high school media teacher, I caught the journalism bug.
I attended college at the University of Missouri in Columbia. While taking classes, I worked for an NBC affiliate, KOMU for six years. I have many feathers in my journalism hat. At KOMU, I was an anchor, reporter, producer, editor, supervisor...you name it! Some of my biggest accomplishments within the last six years are reporting and producing an Emmy award winning series on autism. I also got the chance to interview President Obama while he was on the campaign trail.
When I'm not working, I spend time with my dog. I have a blue merle border collie. Her name is Apollo. She is a bit spoiled. We like to go hiking on the weekends.
I'm very excited to call Eastern Kentucky home. Your southern hospitality is a warm welcome. I'm always looking for story ideas. Please send me an email at ashley.reynolds@wymtnews.com . Also check out my blog and follow me on twitter http://twitter.com/ashleywymt. I look forward to hearing from you!
