I am an upstate New Yorker, born and raised in a large Irish-Italian family just outside of Binghamton. Needless to say, my move to Hazard was a major change.

I spent most of my school years on stage. Acting, singing and dancing were three of my passions. But the big one was news. I had a need to read the newspaper every day and know what was going on in and outside of my town. Broadcast journalism seemed a perfect fit for my love of performing and my need to be informed. I believe journalists have a responsibility to tell stories with integrity, and my intent every day is to fulfill that responsibility.

My experience began at Ithaca College, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in journalism. I started out running the teleprompter and eventually worked my way up to reporter and anchor for Newswatch 16, our college station.

I spent my summers and college breaks interning at WIVT-TV, the ABC affiliate in Binghamton. I became a part-time reporter there just before my senior year and was able to fill-in anchor a few times. The experience I gained there was invaluable. The staff was always willing to help me improve and I learned so much from the people I interviewed. The best part about this job is meeting new people every day.

I am thrilled to be working in a place entirely new to me. My co-workers at WYMT made me feel at home from day one and the people here are some of the friendliest I have ever met! My mom and dad are the most supportive parents in the world and they love to hear about my life here. Leaving New York was definitely scary, but every day I am more confident that I made the right choice.
