Born and raised in Pennsylvania, I came a long way to be part of the Mountain News team. I have known for awhile that reporting is what I love to do. I love a good story and I enjoy meeting people. Those who know me know that I am quite the talker.

Another passion is theatre. I have been involved with theatre and musicals for about twelve years. I act and sing and attempt to dance. (Dancing was never my best quality.)

My dad and brother are two of the most important guys in my life, along with my two awesome nephews. Gavin, who is four years old, says that I now live in “BE-tucky”.

The most amazing person I have ever met was my mother. I lost her in October of 2005 to breast cancer. I try to honor her memory every day. A year after she passed, I walked a 60 mile, three day walk for breast cancer. Every step was for mom. It was one of the most amazing, powerful, and difficult things I’ve ever done.

When my mother was first diagnosed with cancer, my friends and I decided to dedicate our theatre performances and other events to her. We began the phrase “Do it for mom” and it is a motto I keep with me every day. Today and every day I do it for mom.
