Red Barn Radio Welcomes Drymilll Road

8pm

ArtsPlace, 161 N Mill St., Lexington, KY 40507
RED BARN RADIO WELCOMES DRYMILL ROAD 08/20/14 AT 8 PM
Drymill Road crafts old-timey newgrass/bluegrass-tinged goodness marked by upbeat banjo, perky mandolin and wildly harmonizing vocals — overall, it’s chipper, charming, spirited good time music that’ll take you somewhere down the tranquility of a back road then sling you into the heart of a raucous party to sell out crowds. A mighty fine musical time! The band has played the Carnegie Hall in New York and the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC as well as festivals with Rhonda Vincent, IIIrd Tyme Out, Ricky Skaggs, and more! Check out their website of the same name for more info!

ZZ Top

Date(s): 10/24/2014

8:30pm

The Norton Center for the Arts, Danville, KY
The sharp-dressed men of legendary rock band ZZ Top are bringing their signature mix of Southern rock, blues and boogie, to the Norton Center this fall. Guitarist Billy F. Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard are currently touring the country in support of their first studio album in nine years, La Futura. ZZ TOP’s music is always instantly recognizable, eminently powerful, profoundly soulful, and 100% Texas American in derivation. They’ve been thrilling audiences since the group’s inception in 1969 and can lay the undisputed claim to being the longest running major rock band with original members intact. Their unmistakable sound and attitude have garnered them legions of fans and cemented their status as cultural icons with popular hits including, “Sharp Dressed Man,” “La Grange,” “Legs,” “Gimme All your Lovin’,” and “Tube Snake Boogie.” These Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have sold millions of records over the course of their career, have been officially designated as Heroes of The State of Texas, have been referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms and are true rock icons but, against all odds, they’re really just doing what they’ve always done. They’re real and they’re surreal and they’re ZZ Top.
