Shakespeare: Voice and Verse - The Lexington Chamber Chorale

Second Presbyterian Church 460 E. Main St. (enter on Ransom Ave.), Lexington, KY
The Lexington Chamber Chorale
in collaboration with students from the SCAPA/Lafayette Theatre Program and professional actors from the Bluegrass celebrates William Shakespeare’s words with performances by actors and in musical settings. The inclusion of music, both instrumental and vocal, in Shakespeare’s plays is well documented. Our guests will provide excerpts from plays and poetry, and the Chorale will perform historic and more recent musical interpretations of the words. We are pleased to close our 24th season with this innovative work.

The Lexington Chamber Chorale - Music of War and Peace

7:30 PM

Second Presbyterian Church, 460 E. Main St. (enter on Ransom Ave.), Lexington, KY
Music is often associated with war and peace. From the Crusades to conflicts between nations, music has been used to incite battles as well as to mourn the resultant damage and deaths. What often follows is music based on dona nobis pacem (grant us peace). We begin our 24th season with powerful, beautiful, and sometimes chilling music of war and peace.
