WestCare Recovery Fair

Boyle County Jail, Bypass, Danville, KY
September is National Recovery Month (www.recoverymonth.gov), and the Substance Abuse Program at Westcare's Danville / Boyle County Detention Center is sponsoring a Recovery Fair. The speakers are fantastic and local public figures. For years, Dr. Burns Brady headed up Kentucky's Physicians Health Foundation (previously Impaired Physicians Foundation) which helps doctors with addiction issues. Dr. Karen Shay, is a Morehead dentist and national advocate for recovery, who speaks from the heart about the loss of her child to addiction. Jerod Thomas, the Westcare Director at the Boyle County Substance Abuse Program, will speak of his own journey, including the loss of a promising NFL career, and his struggles back to life and ultimately to the position of the Director at the facility. And finally, Justice Mary Noble will speak. Justice Noble has championed the cause of recovery and has always recognized that reducing addiction reduces crime. Justice Noble started the Fayette County Drug Court Program many years ago.
