6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Smiley Pete Publishing, 434 Old Vine St. Lexington, Kentucky, 40507
This month’s tadoo Lounge Session will double as the official vinyl release celebration for the LP “The Moon Has Been All My Life” from local chamber-influenced dream-rock band Bear Medicine. The event will feature a headlining performance from them and an opening set from Knoxville-based 12-string guitarist Joseph Allred.

Hosted as always at Smiley Pete Publishing, the Happy Hour-style event is free and all ages, with food from Wild Thyme Chef Allison Davis, cocktails (specially crafted by Brandon Judd using Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. mixers) and Sweetwater craft beer available for purchase.

Lexington’s own Bear Medicine is a mystical concept band, tempering a traditional rock quartet structure with celestial voices, cello, flute and piano. Self-described “soothers,” the group envisions their sound as a healing balm to the wounds of life.

UK E-Day

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

UK College of Engineering, Lexington Campus
Engineers Day, or E-Day, is a celebration of everything engineering has to offer. From building bridges to discovering new medications to writing the software that powers our cell phones, engineers and computer scientists do the things that make our 21st-century world work. E-Day comes at the end of Engineers Week, an annual event sponsored by a coalition of more than 100 professional societies, major corporations and government agencies dedicated to promoting math and science literacy and ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce.

E-Day is a “come and go” type event. Most activities do not a have start time, although a few contests (Volcano and Egg Drop come to mind) will have a definitive time for judging. Most people find that they can’t make it around to every exhibit and contest because we have so many, so it is advisable to get here close to 9 am.

CHAMP Camp

8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Lexington Catholic High School
Character. Heart. Attitude. Motivation. Pride. These are the characteristics C.H.A.M.P. Camp strives to instill in
our campers. These two-day football camps are about much more than football. By focusing on on-field training,
our team is also able to impart invaluable lessons for life both on and off the field.

In our experience, many campers who stand to gain the most from C.H.A.M.P. Camp activities are unable to
afford a registration fee; therefore, we have made our camp completely free for all campers. We rely entirely on
the generous support of our sponsors to make C.H.A.M.P. Camp possible. Our staff and coaches are unpaid and
devote their time strictly toward investing in our area students.

Celebrate an Italian holiday tradition in a new way at the Feast of Seven Fishes at AZUR Restaurant & Patio Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. to benefit St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Richmond. The family-style southern Italian meal, originated by Roman Catholics in observance of “The Vigil” as they awaited the birth of Jesus, consists of seven meat-free courses. Chef Jeremy Ashby will serve the seafood spread to communal tables on shared platters the classic Italian way. Time-honored elements like simple pasta, hearty fish courses and sweet desserts highlight the grand meal. The cost is $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity, with an option to add Chianti wine pairings for $20.95. AZUR will donate $10 from every meal to the church. For more information or to make reservations, call (859) 296-1007.

“In a season full of braised meats and roasted birds, I want to celebrate the bounty of the sea,” said Ashby. “I welcome diners unfamiliar with this classic meal to loosen their belts and embrace the Feast of Seven Fishes as a new holiday tradition.”

The Feast of Seven Fishes menu includes:
