Downtown City of Martin, KY across from Jungle Jim's Inflatables, Food & Fun.
Bring the family out to celebrate the lighting of the city Christ-mas tree. Lets put "CHRIST" back in Christmas, and give thanks for the many blessings we have. Come fellowship with us at this joyous occasion with local area churches reading scripture and singing carols.
Santa will also make a special appearance for the kiddys at 6pm!
Free hot chocolate and cookies will be served at Jungle Jim's Inflatables.

Showing of "An Appalachian Dawn"
The Martin County Ministerial Association is partnering with the Roy F Collier Community Center and Main Street Cinema to offer a free showing of "An Appalachian Dawn," which is a documentary about Manchester, KY, once known as "Painkiller Capital of the World." It tells the story of how in May 2004, "63 churches and 3500 people marched through their own town publically declaring their desperation of God and how since then everything has changed."

Hiring Our Miners Everyday (H.O.M.E.) jobs and training initiative will be enrolling laid-off miners and their spouses, for free expert career advising, job preparedness and placement support, and training that to help them get back to work in new skilled careers, like telecommunications, certified nursing assistant, paramedic, plumbing, HVAC, lineman, welding, and more.
