Run for Your Lives Zombie 5K Run/Walk and Block Party
City Hall, Main Street, Paintsville, KY
The 5K Run/Walk will feature runners wearing an apparatus similar to flag football where the two flags per runner will represent their “lifeline.” The walkers will travel in the opposite direction with the goal of taking the flags from the runners as they pass. Additional lifeline flags will be strategically placed throughout the course. Fallsburg Haunted House members will lead participants in the first ever "Thriller" dance downtown at 5:00. The event will also feature the local band, The Usual Suspects," as well as a zombie photo booth, concessions, and LOTS of zombies!! All proceeds to benefit The Salvation Army of Johnson County.

VOLUNTEER! You can repair 1 of 6 homes, in 1 day! You can hold your spot for just $10, or your group of 10 can reserve a spot for $90! Meet us at the Hindman Settlement School at 8:00 am for a complementary breakfast and your free event t-shirt! At 8:30 am each group will grab their sack lunches and follow their site leader to their project for the day. These are families just like yours who need a little extra help, and who we otherwise wouldn’t be able to serve. Whether you’re a group of friends, family, co-workers, or a civic group, we want you! Hear madrigals by Thomas Morley and other Elizabethan composers written to honor Elizabeth (affectionately known as Oriana), ensemble and solo songs by 17th-century composer and lutenist John Dowland, and 20th-century “Choral Dances” from Gloriana (another term of affection) by Benjamin Britten. Enjoy an evening of Elizabethan music, dance, and a special appearance by “Queen Elizabeth.”
