James and the Giant Peach

Evenings 7:30pm - Sunday Matinee at 3pm

Jenny Wiley Theatre Pikeville Mainstage: 218 Second Street Pikeville, KY 41501
When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop sown their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion which results in a tremendous peach and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach among human-sized insects with equally over-sized personalities. But after the peach falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean the group faces hunger, sharks, and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James' quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together. JWT's Footlights Theatre presents this much-loved story by the creator of Matilda, Roald Dahl. Great for the entire family!

Chopra Center Certified Ayurvedic Lecture Series

5:30pm -7:30pm

207 E Reynolds Rd #260, Lexington, KY 40517
Students will learn the Ayurvedic lifestyle program presented by a Deepak Chopra Certified Instructor. The Chopra Center is based in Carlsbad, California. Holistic Life Sciences is proud to have Chopra Instructor's on our team and bring this event to Lexington, Ky. Ayurveda is an ancient east Indian healing system and lifestyle, this course will provide all the information you need to begin a life filled with balance of mind, body, and soul. From our environmental challenges, our state of stress, weight loss and management our state of health and happiness unfolds. You will learn your personal elemental make up (Dosha) and how the food you eat, how you react to emotional situations, social interactions, mediation practices, and yoga practices will improve how you digest your life. Most may look at digestion as only referring to the food you eat. The digestion process goes far beyond the plate. Your day to day life, events you encounter, what your TV is tuned to, how much you enjoy your job and relationships, and your reaction to these life events all must be digested. If you hold onto those negative emotional trauma’s they will eventually manifest into a disease or illness, even if you ate the perfect amount of food with the perfect nutrition. Some who hold onto weight that eat healthy and workout, and they wonder why? It is because you have 'held onto' undigested emotional baggage. This powerful Ayurvedic knowledge will teach you the release process of the past and how to more efficiently process future emotions. Our goal is for our students to walk away with the knowledge of 'tuning' themselves from one moment to the next no matter what is taking place outside of them.
