Bids 4 Builds Online Auction to benefit Lexington Habitat for Humanity

Lexington Habitat for Humanity is hosting the 4th annual Bids 4 Builds Online Auction from November 29 through December 8, 2013 at www.bids4builds.com. This 10-day online auction will culminate in a Holiday Open House at the Lexington Habitat ReStore, 451 Southland Drive, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 14, when winning bidders can pick up their purchases and check out great deals in home-improvement merchandise. The auction was created by Lexington Habitat’s Ambassador Program as an alternative way to shop for loved ones during the holidays and also support Habitat.


The online auction features nearly 200 one-of-a-kind items and experiences such as:

· NCIS autographed photo and script - signed by Mark Harmon

· 2 hour Challenge Course or Equestrian Vaulting experience at the Life Adventure Center

LUMINOSITY Community Light Bulb Drive

More than 10,000 incandescent light bulbs are being collected Nov. 1 - Dec. 31, 2013 to create a large-scale, interactive sculpture of light to be on display in Triangle Park.
Light bulbs can be donated at Habitat for Humanity RESTORE, Lexington Herald-Leader, UK Federal Credit Union Hamburg location, and Lexington Art League.

Harlan County Celebrates Christmas Light Display

Harlan County Christian School is excited to announce that it will again present and maintain a Christmas light display at the Putney Shriners Fairgrounds in Harlan County. Many people travel out of town during the holidays to view these kinds of displays and we are happy that one will be available locally for Harlan and surrounding counties. What an awesome way to celebrate the Christmas season! Admission is free. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Harlan County Christian School.
