It includes live Youth Violence Prevention Programs, Youth Health Advocates, Guest Speakers, Audience Participation, Videos, Discussion, free Lunch and both Adult and Youth panels discussing ways both Youths and Adults can meet HALFWAY, equally, to reduce all violence. All profits of this event will go to the Humane Society. There Will be music featuring 106.7 The Dog, hot dogs, hamburgers, games, and cats and dogs that are looking for a furever home. Families are encouraged to come out and spend a day having fun and making a difference in a pets life.

And for those of you who want to embrace your inter fat kid, Mac and grilled cheese with pulled pork will be offered along with referrals to cardiologists.

This year’s Handcraft Festival is Saturday, April 12 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the distillery in lovely Loretto! Take a jaunt on down to our little slice of heaven to enjoy a self-guided tour with food samples, cocktail samples, food trucks and live music while you stroll around the beautiful historical landmark we call “home.” You’ll even have a chance to meet Rob Samuels.
There will be 27 vendors selling their handmade wares from bourbon bottle tags to Maker’s Mark-inspired paintings on staves and much more. We have many new vendors this year, including Sycamore Hill, Kentucky for Kentucky and Legendary Boot Company from El Paso, Texas. Those Texans sure do love their bourbon (as do we all)! You’ll be able to find everything – gifts for yourself, family or friends of all different sizes and price points. Our vendors are looking forward to sharing the stories of their handcrafted items with you.

Want to learn how to make your own Android mobile apps? Awesome Inc U was created in 2013 to help anyone learn to code. Our team of experts has taught over 300 people to code at our 1-day courses here in Lexington, and we've worked with over 1500 students in K-12 schools around Fayette County through the "Hour of Code" events series.
Our next 1-day course on Android is on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In this course, you'll start from scratch to build your own Android mobile app.
- Courses are limited to 30 participants.
- Our participants come from diverse backgrounds, men and women, middle school to middle aged.
- No prior programming experience required, but you should be comfortable using a computer.
- Course requires a Windows/Mac/Linux computer. We recommend bringing your own laptop, but daily rentals are also available for $25.
- Course is taught at Awesome Inc HQ in Downtown Lexington (348 E. Main St.). Free on and off-street parking is available during weekend courses like this one.

2nd Annual Guns vs. Hoses Charitable Basketball Game
Montgomery County High School Gymnasium - "The Barn"
The 2nd Annual Guns V/S Hoses Basketball Game for Charity planning is underway. Your local police officers from The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #56 and firefighters from Montgomery County Fire & EMS (IAFF Local #4805) will participate in a highly competitive and action packed game. The event will be played at Montgomery County High School gym, “The Barn”, on April 12th, 2014, with Tip-Off at 6:00 PM, doors open at 5:00 PM. In conjunction with the game there will be raffles (UK Autographed Sport Memorabilia / 50-50) , silent auctions (Cincinnati Reds Tickets), half court shots and other activities during the games and throughout the evening.
All funds generated from this charitable event will support local programs for each organization such as: Shop with a Cop, Scholarship(s) to graduating Montgomery County Senior(s), other events supported throughout the year by each organization as well as new to this year, The Tony Clayton Community Service Award, where a volunteer firefighter will be selected by his peers.
