Junior League of Louisville American Girl Fashion Show Casting Call

Calling All American Girl Fans!

The Junior League of Louisville is searching for girls to model in the 2014 American Girl Fashion Show!

The American Girl Fashion Show is a fun-filled event for girls and their families, friends, and favorite dolls! Celebrate the experience of being a girl, whether yesterday or today, through a colorful presentation of historical and contemporary fashions. Enjoy light fare and learn how clothing has changed over the years to reflect history, culture, and girls' individual styles.

The Fashion Show will be held on Millionaires Row at Churchill Downs on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12. If you know a young girl who loves American Girl Dolls, wants to help other kids, and is a size 6x or 10; please join us at one of our casting calls!

Visit www.jllamericangirlfs.com and choose “casting” from the menu to learn more about casting calls. You will need to complete the model authorization form and the model application, which can be downloaded from the website. Bring these two items, along with a recent color photograph, to the casting call.

Girls are encouraged to wear an outfit that represents their personality and arrive with hair down and no makeup (lip gloss is okay).

A tax-deductible contribution of $75 from the selected models will include a swag bag, a photo shoot with a complimentary professional photo, and a chance to shine!

Bluegrass Flower and Vegetable Show

Lexington Lions Club Bluegrass Fair is hosting the Bluegrass Flower and Vegetable Show. Everyone is encouraged to enter and attend the Bluegrass Flower and Vegetable Show an annual competition in July. The show is sponsored by the Fayette County Master Gardeners Association and the Lexington Council Garden Clubs. Come "Show What You Grow!" at the county fair! Bluegrass Farmers’ Market to open second location at AZUR Restaurant & Patio this spring

The Bluegrass Farmers’ Market will add a second location at AZUR Restaurant & Patio, 3070 Lakecrest Circle, Suite 550, beginning Saturday, May 10. The weekly event, continuing each Saturday through mid-October from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will take place on AZUR’s spacious stone brick patio as an alternate destination for the only farmers’ market in Lexington with 100% locally-grown products.

All vendors of the Bluegrass Farmer’s Market are members of the Kentucky Proud program and all fruit and vegetable farmers are Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certified. Offerings will include meat, squash, potatoes and homemade soap, among a multitude of other seasonal items. Patrons are also invited to step into AZUR to enjoy a meal prepared by chef Jeremy Ashby with ingredients hand-picked from the market.

Guests may visit the original location at 3450 Richmond Rd. on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. or Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning April 12. Both locations of the Bluegrass Farmers’ Market will close Oct. 25, or after the first killing frost. Admission is free.
