Kentucky Tour de Cure
Tour de Cure offers a great day of cycling and fun through beautiful Kentucky back roads, as well as the personal satisfaction of completing a ride and doing your part in the fight against diabetes. Whether you're a novice, an occasional rider or expert cyclist, we have a route that matches your ability.
Our routes feature full-service rest stops as well as SAG and mechanical and medical support along the way. All routes will travel alongside the beautiful country roads of Jefferson, Oldham and Shelby Counties. Upon crossing the finish line, you will be invited to join us for lunch, to unwind in the massage tent and to enjoy live music and more.
At the current rate, one out of every three Americans born today will eventually develop diabetes. Whether it happens to you, your family, a friend, or a stranger, diabetes affects all of us. Currently, there are nearly 26 million Americans with diabetes and 79 million with pre-diabetes.
Through your participation in the Tour de Cure, you will be supporting the 1.5 million people served each year by the American Diabetes Association in Kentuckiana area.

BIKE TO THE FUTURE
Did she blind you with science and kick your heart into orbit? Well, grab your favorite fembot or robot dude and bring them to the 5th Annual Bike Prom which benefits the Living Arts & Science Center.
Create your best futuristic garb, space up your bike, and meet at The Living Arts & Science Center for pre-prom refreshments and pre-registration at 5:30 pm. Prom officially starts at 6:30 pm.
You can race (or casually ride) through the galaxy with your date and dance card in hand. We’ll stamp your card at each location along your intergalactic journey where you can join in other prom activities like prom portraits, punch, and a polka dance.
Prizes and other special awards will be presented during the after-party at Atomic Café, where a portion of the night’s sales will be donated to the LASC. The event is open to the public and for all levels of biking experience. You may preregister with a credit card online at www.lasclex.org or by calling the LASC at 859-252-5222. Or, register at the event beginning at 5:30 pm on October 6.
NEW! This year, join us at the Living Arts & Science Center for a futuristic “Pre-Prom” Decorating Party on Saturday, September 29, from 10 am until 2 pm. Adults and children can work with LASC artists and staff to create space age decorations and costumes for Bike Prom. A low materials fee will be charged --- $3 member/ $5 non-member.
This added element will help all of those creatively-challenged cyclists to put their best foot forward on Prom Night.

Now celebrating their 44th anniversary, the Living Arts & Science Center is a not-for-profit organization that provides creative and unique opportunities for exploration and education in the arts and sciences. Art galleries, a Discovery gallery, arts and science classes, workshops and fieldtrips are provided year-round for children and adults of all ages. In addition, the Living Arts and Science Center partners with community agencies and organizations to provide free hands-on arts activities at community events and programs and classes for special needs and at-risk students.
A Capital Campaign, Imagine This!, is underway to renovate the LASC’s historic building and to expand their facility with additional classrooms, a teaching kitchen, a planetarium, and performance spaces.
