The S*T*A*R*S (Saint Joseph Associates for Renowned Service) Committee is now planning the 27th Annual Evening with the S*T*A*R*S. The S*T*A*R*S event will be held at the Lexington Convention Center on November 7, 2015.
This year the S*T*A*R*S will be honoring:
• 2015 President’s Award for Physician of the Year at Saint Joseph Hospital:

The event will be black-tie optional, with dinner, dancing with music by the Mercy Men and a silent auction. This elegant event has grown exponentially since its beginning in 1989 and has raised over $1,100,000 to provide funding for the critical needs of Saint Joseph Hospital, Saint Joseph East and Saint Joseph Jessamine RJ Corman Ambulatory Care Center. Lexington Race for the Cure

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series is the largest series of 5k run/fitness walks in the world. You can run or walk the 5k route with a team or as an individual. All registration fees include the official Komen Race for the Cure T-shirt and Race bib.

2015 Komen Lexington Golf Classic

The 2nd annual Komen Lexington Golf Classic will be on June 29, 2015 at the Andover Golf & Country Club. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:00 AM with shotgun start at 12:30 PM. There will be special prizes and contests throughout the event.

Inaugural "Shifting Gears for Kids" Charity Drag Race

Kentucky Speedway is opening its doors to the public and offering the opportunity to drag race on its backstretch for the FIRST TIME EVER!
For a donation to Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC), racers can drag race 1/8 of a mile down the backstretch of Kentucky Speedway, which has 5 degrees of banking.
Racers pay $20 to participate; trailered cars are $25. Multiple passes dependent on number of participants.
The event will feature the following classes:
•Street Diesel Trucks
•Open Diesel Trucks
•Street Gas Trucks
•4 & 6-Cylinder Trucks
•4 & 6-Cylinder Cars
•2-Wheel Drive Class
Sorry – for safety reasons, we cannot allow any motorcycles, ATV’s or other off-road recreational vehicles for this event.
Racers must be 18 years or older, and passengers must be at least 14 years of age. Riders under the age of 18 must have a parent present to sign a waiver for their participation. All drivers and/or passengers must wear a seatbelt.
The local community is also invited to come and watch this inaugural event for only $10 per carload. Concessions will be available for this event.
In the event of rain, “Shifting Gears for Kids” will be canceled, and a make-up date will be announced at a later time.
Heads-up scoring will be used, and although trophies will not be awarded per class, racers who have a perfect tree will receive a prize.
Proceeds from this event benefit children in need in the tri-state area.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1.Racers must be 18 years or older and will be required to sign a waiver for their participation.
2.Passengers must be at least 14 years of age.
3.Riders under the age of 18 MUST have a parent/guardian present to sign a waiver for their participation.
4.All drivers and/or passengers MUST wear a seatbelt.
5.Drivers and passengers MUST wear pants, shirts with sleeves and closed-toe shoes. No exceptions. Sandals, flip flops, shorts or sleeveless shirts are NOT allowed.
6.All vehicles will be required to pass technical inspection prior to participation.
7.No loose items in the vehicle or vehicle bed (i.e., batteries, pets).
8.No alcohol or drinking prior to participation.
9.For safety reasons, we CANNOT allow any motorcycles, ATV's or other off-road recreational vehicles for this event.
10.Spectators are not allowed in the garage area at any time and must remain in the event parking/viewing area at all times.
The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club 10th Annual Charity Golf Outing
