The Jingle Bell Jog 5K will take place in beautiful downtown Harlan, Ky. It is not a race but a fun way to get into the Christmas spirit. You may jog, run, or walk your way to the finish line. Bundle up in your best Christmas PJ's, dress up like your favorite Christmas character, wear your ugly Christmas sweater, or sport your festive Santa hat and see if you are a winner of one of several awards after the jog. During the Jingle Bell Jog, participants may be chosen by one of Santa's elves to receive a Christmas gift. After the 5K, warm up in the Harlan Center with free hot coco and cookies while watching the award ceremony.

The Christmas Store will be a place where families can come and shop (free of charge) for gifts with dignity and love. The Christmas Store will be held at The Nicholasville United Methodist Church (located at 303 West Maple Street) on Wednesday, December 19th, Thursday, December 20th and Friday, December 21st from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. We are looking for volunteers to join with us and are accepting donations. The East Kentucky Science Center's Christmas show, "The Star of Bethlehem" will open Saturday, December 3rd at 2pm. After months of conversions, the show is now ready! "The Star of Bethlehem" is a planetarium show that focuses on finding what celestial event could have started the wise men on their journey in search of a king.

This is a planetarium show that was produced by the EKSC staff and cannot be seen anywhere except right here in our planetarium. This is a wonderful way to get you and yours into the Christmas spirit. Although many people have seen "The Star of Bethlehem" show in the past, this year it will be better than ever. With the recent installation of our new and improved high definition fulldome video system, the show will be better than ever with new scenes and improved graphics.

The Star of Bethlehem will be playing at 2:00p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 13th) through Saturday (Dec. 17th).

Also don't forget about our Christmas laser show "Laser Holidays", it will also be showing daily at 3:15pm Tuesday-Saturday.
