Join us for a holiday morning tea and a fun printmaking session with artist Erica Meuser. Have you saved all of your old holiday cards? Great. Bring them with you and we will refashion them to make new holiday cards from collograph techniques. This year you can send out hand-made cards to all of your favorite friends and family!

New Art Classes beginning in July and August for Teens and Adults of all levels!

continuing schedule of summertime fun and creative learning for Teen and Adult students. Weekly sessions of classes take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and are all taught by highly skilled and recognized professional artists.

July and August Evening classes for Teens and Adults include:

3D Painting Workshop with Lennon Michalski - July 9 and 16, 6 - 8 PM.
Students will work with acclaimed artist, Lennon Michalski, to explore color theory and Chromadepth technology to create paintings that POP off of the page!

Raku Pottery with Chris Wilder - July Tuesdays and Thursdays - July 9, 11,16, 18, 23, 25, 6 - 8 PM. Students will work with artist, Chris Wilder, in the ancient artform of Raku pottery. Students will hand-build vessels, apply glazes and participate in an outdoor raku firing.

The Art of Papercutting with Steven Littrell - August Thursdays, Aug. 1, 8,15, 22, 29, 6 - 8 PM. Learn about and enjoy the ancient art of
papercutting. Students will learn about the history and culture as well as the style and techniques using scissors and knives to create intricate detailed works of art.

Copying the Old Masters with Ashley Howell - August Thursdays, Aug. 1, 8,15, 22, 29, 6 - 8 PM. In art, drawing was the foundation for the Old
Masters. This class will allow students to choose a masters drawing to study and will focus on producing a master copy. A field trip to the UK Art Museums Masters art exhibit will also take place.

Classes for children 2 years-old through High School are also offered in one-week sessions from 8 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Partial and full day schedules are available with multiple choices for each age and time frame. Students may select one or two classes or bring their lunch and enjoy up to five different creative classes per day. Some scholarships are available for low-income students.

Pastor Jeffrey A. Lambert of Jenny Wiley Dulcimers and Kits is starting the Perry County Dulcimer Club on Thursday, Aug 2nd at 5:30 PM. The classes are free (instruction book in $10) and everyone is welcome.
We will be learning how to play the mountain or lap dulcimer. There will be periodic clinics on “Reading Tablature, How to Tune, Change Strings, Maintenance, etc” of the mountain dulcimer.
We will be meeting in the Lothair United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The Lothair UMC in located at 301 Locust St (Cormer of E. Main and Locust).
