Celebrate AZUR Restaurant & Patio’s 10-year anniversary while ringing in the New Year with a four-course prix fixe dinner Dec. 31. Honoring the Lexington community’s support for the past decade, AZUR will offer an evening to remember featuring live music at 8 p.m. and a midnight champagne toast. Reservations are required with choice of three seating times at 5, 7 and 9 p.m. offering a menu of favorites from chef Jeremy Ashby like lobster crepes, winter greens salad and stuffed gnocchi caprese. Celebrate an Italian holiday tradition in a new way at the Feast of Seven Fishes at AZUR Restaurant & Patio Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. to benefit St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Richmond. The family-style southern Italian meal, originated by Roman Catholics in observance of “The Vigil” as they awaited the birth of Jesus, consists of seven meat-free courses. Chef Jeremy Ashby will serve the seafood spread to communal tables on shared platters the classic Italian way. Time-honored elements like simple pasta, hearty fish courses and sweet desserts highlight the grand meal. The cost is $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity, with an option to add Chianti wine pairings for $20.95. AZUR will donate $10 from every meal to the church. This holiday season, the Bourbon Women Association is offering three opportunities to imbibe while shopping at multiple locations for triple the fun. The Sip & Shop events, which are designed to entertain and educate guests on Kentucky’s signature spirit, will be held in Lexington (Nov. 13), Bowling Green (Nov. 20) and Louisville (Dec. 4) at 5:30 p.m. Each will feature a special tasting from the evening’s bourbon sponsor, a festive food sampling from local purveyors, silent auction and exclusive discounts on Liquor Barn merchandise. Lexington Restaurant Week 2014
Lexington Restaurant Week is back. The citywide culinary celebration, now in its second year, will take place July 24−August 2 and features 59 locally owned restaurants.

Dining Out for Life is an international event. On November 28th, part of the proceeds from each official Dining Out for Life restaurant will benefit AVOL (AIDS Volunteers, Inc.). Just by dining out, you can make a big difference in the lives of Kentucky families living with HIV/AIDS. Plus, you can register to win some spectacular prizes. AVOL provides nearly a million dollars a year in essential services to men, women, and families infected or affected by HIV/AIDS in 72 counties in central and eastern Kentucky. These services help families keep their homes, have enough to eat, and get to medical appointments. You will have an opportunity during your meal to make an additional donation to AVOL above and beyond the contribution of the restaurant. AVOL is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Based on the theme, “A Night on Bourbon Street,” the fundraiser will feature New Orleans-inspired cuisine, bourbon tasting, live music and a live and silent auction. Tickets are $85 per person or $1,000 for a table for 10 . The event benefits the Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater Kentucky & Southern Indiana Chapter, including the 24-Hour Helpline, Medic Alert/Safe Return Program, Family Support Groups and respite for caregivers.
