Winter Trade Days at the Fort

Fort Boonesborough State Park
Eighteenth century merchants and traders in period clothing set up shops in the cabins and blockhouses at the fort. All items for sale are typical of items available in the 18th century. Fort opens at 9 a.m. each day. This is a great opportunity to do shop for unique holiday gifts. There is no admission charge for this event.

18th Century Christmas at the Fort

Fort Boonesborough State Park
Visit Fort Boonesborough State Park to see and hear the differences in the holiday celebrations of the season during the early settlement of Kentucky. The fort will be lighted by candlelight, with decorations in keeping with the traditions of time. There will be living history interpretations of the traditions of various ethnic groups and nationalities during the season. Candle lanterns, bonfires, the Christmas Guns (celebratory rifle salute), food and refreshments, music and dance, will all add to the atmosphere. Refreshments are included. Open 6-8 p.m. This is a special program sponsored by the Fort Boonesborough Foundation. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12, and under 6 are free. Call 1-859-527-3131.

The Siege of Boonesborough Battle Re-enactment

Fort Boonesborough State Park
Events will include a battle re-enactment of the 1778 "Siege of Boonesborough" on both days and a special night battle Saturday at dusk.

Arrive early and spend the day learning about 18th-century life in Kentucky. See militia and settlers’ camps, a Native American village, merchants, traders, food and more. Visit the Museum Store and 18th-century Transylvania Store. This event is free with regular fort admission.

Pioneer Classic Cruise-In & Car Show

Harrodsburg @ Anderson-Dean Community Park, US HWY 127N
The Pioneer Classic Cruise-In & Open Car Show, sponsored by the Harrodsburg/Mercer County Tourist Commission, will be held on Saturday, September 15, from 11 AM – 7 PM, at Anderson-Dean Community Park on US Highway 127 North. Drive-thru optional judging will be held from 11AM – 3 PM with “Top 10 Best of Show” trophies awarded at 4 PM. One hundred dollar ($100) prize money will be drawn every one-half hour for car show exhibitors only. Live entertainment includes performances by The Dooley-Miller Band w/Kickin’ Brass and High Heels & Sneakers. Admission to the public is FREE and everyone is welcome!
