This is the initial training for new foster and adoptive parents. the training event will meet on six consecutive Saturdays. The sessions will begin at 9:00am and end at 3:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break.

The University of Louisville KY Autism Training Center presents"Supporting Autism 24/7". Upon completion of this training parents and professionals will learn ways to: design a supportive home environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, develop strategies for going into the community with individuals on the autism spectrum, understand functions of behavior and how to develop strategies based on those specific functions.

Join us as we learn the traditional Coptic binding stitch. We will construct two books. Our first book we will use traditional decorative paper and on our second book we will create our own patterned paper using simple monotype tracing techniques. Each student will learn to make and take home their own punching trough, which is used to punch the holes in the pages of your book.

Monotypes are a great introduction to printmaking. Apply water-based inks are an acrylic plate. Then transfer the ink to paper when the plate and damp paper are run through our hand-cranked press. Also learn techniques that will enable you to produce monotypes at home.

Down and dirty printing! On Friday we’ll make plates. On Saturday we’ll print them. Collagraphs are prints made from plates that are created by collaging textures together. We’ll explore creating multi-layer images using color.
