*Big Love by Charles L. Mee is an adaptation of the Greek tragedy The
Suppliants by Euripides and true to the epic greek form it shoots for the
heavens portraying unresolved conflicts of sexuality, love and justice.
Director Sullivan Canaday White says, “Charles Mee’s Big Love embodies
what I still believe great theatre to be: theatre that can only happen in
the theatre. Embracing and celebrating theatre’s uniqueness is the compass
I use when creating. Big Love is a world of excess and extremes with its
characters living in a constant state of crisis searching for the meaning
of justice, vengeance, freewill, and love. It is loud and messy and full
of human smells--fear and sweat and longing. It is quiet and beautiful,
ugly and surprising, funny and harrowing, entertaining and thought
