Driver airlifted after serious Rockcastle Co. crash

A serious crash shutdown part of Interstate 75, and a woman had to be airlifted from the scene.

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - State police are investigating a serious crash that sent two drivers to the hospital.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night in the southbound lanes of I-75 in Rockcastle County.

State police say the two vehicles were both traveling south, when they clipped each other near mile marker 70. One vehicle slammed into the concrete median, the other hit the guardrail and flipped onto its top.

A female driver was airlifted to UK Hospital with serious injuries. The other driver was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Their names have not been released.
