LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach Rich Brooks is confident
he's got some talent to work with.
But even after four decades in coaching he's not sure how the
Wildcats will respond on Sunday in the Governor's Cup against
Louisville.
The Wildcats will have a handful of players, including sophomore
quarterback Mike Hartline, making their first collegiate start.
Brooks said he's been pleased with Hartline's steady progress
during training camp, particularly his decision-making.
Yet Brooks knows it'll take more than that to knock off the
Cardinals. He expects Louisville's revamped defense to create
problems for Kentucky's offense.
Though he knows what's at stake, Brooks doesn't think a win or a
loss will make or break Kentucky's season. Though the Wildcats have
split with their rivals the last two years, he pointed out both
seasons have ended with bids to the Music City Bowl.
