On May 26th, the UK Basketball team officially announced that Jared Carter, A.J. Stewart and Donald Williams would not return for the 2009-10 season.

Three different sources confirmed with 27 Sportsfirst on Wednesday evening that guard Kevin Galloway and forward Matt Pilgrim have been released from their scholarships.
The move gets the UK basketball team down to the maximum 13 scholarship players for the upcoming season.

Kevin Galloway was to be a senior for the Cats this season after transferring from the college of Southern Idaho. The Los Angeles native played in 30 games this past season, averaging 10 minutes of playing time and under two points per game. Galloway shined in UK's 68-65 home win over Florida scoring six points but more importantly dishing out nine assists....

Wildcat fans never had a chance to see what Matt Pilgrim could offer to the UK program. The transfer from Hampton had to sit out this past season but his defensive tenacity and stories from the practice court had the big blue nation excited about what Pilgrim could bring to the table.

No word yet on where these two players could end up next season. UK's Associate Athletic Director of Media Relations DeWayne Peevy couldn't confirm the two players were leaving.

Now all attention turns towards UK guard Jodie Meeks, who has until June 15th to take his name out of the NBA Draft. If Meeks stays in the draft Kentucky will have 12 scholarship players for the 2009-10, which could pay dividends for the class of 2010.
