Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The summer-like weather we're having may have you thinking of cooling off in a pool.
Lexington Parks and Recreation workers are busy getting the city's pools ready for summer. The aquatic centers will open on May 24. The city's other pools will open shortly after.
New in 2014, the city has lowered individual pool passes to $40, and you can save an extra five dollars if you buy them online by May 16.
"We did try to encourage people to purchase the individual passes as opposed to the family passes, which we were. The way we handled the family passes opened ourselves up to a lot of abuse," Brian Rogers, with Lexington Parks and Recreation, told us Wednesday.
Family passes now start at $200, and only eight people can be on a family pass. So it's now cheaper for a family of four to buy individual passes.
