After a dark and stormy Friday night, most spots will wake up to yet another chance for storms into the afternoon. These storms will pack rain showers, lightning and may even make for high water levels in some spots. Until 10:30 this morning, several eastern Kentucky counties (Martin, Floyd, Johnson and Pike) are under a Flood Warning; watch for creeks and streams to run rather high early on.
Daytime highs will run hot once again in the mid to high 80s but the humidity will make it feel like the mid 90s; be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day!
While torrential rainfall and frequent lightning will be the primary threats from these rounds of storms, we will need to keep a close eye on the potential for flash flooding for the next several days.
Sunday looks to be more of the same with even muggier conditions and the chance for thunderstorms.
It gets better next week as a cold front wipes the slate clean and provides us with cooler, drier and more comfortable conditions.
Hang in there and be safe if you're heading out this weekend!
