T.G. Shuck, Chris Bailey, and Kevin Lighty in the 27 FirstAlert Weather Center will get your message and will share pertinent and potentially life-saving information with other 27 NEWSFIRST viewers.

Here are the criteria for severe thunderstorms:

Wind gusts 58mph or higher
Dime size hail or larger

Tornado warnings are issued by the National Weather Service if a tornado is spotted on the ground, or if a rotating funnel cloud is spotted. Tornado warnings may also be issued if radar shows strong rotation inside a severe thunderstorm.
