Winter cold kicking in for Christmas

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The run with unseasonably warm temperatures is coming to a close. The fireworks that many saw on Saturday night-Sunday morning was the leading edge of much colder air.

We'll likely see highs only in the mid and upper 30s for Monday. Maybe even a few flakes flying on Monday. Certainly, a big change from where we have been.

As for a White Christmas... that is not looking very good at all. I do think we'll have the cold air that would support snow. The problem that we will run into there is a lack of moisture. Both Christmas Eve and Christmas day will feature a few flakes of snow. Not enough to cover the ground. I guess it'll be enough for the spirit though.
