Our focus now turns to the potential of record lows tonight. Many areas may wake up to thermometer readings below zero.
Happy New Year! 2013 is going out on a very calm weather note across central and eastern Kentucky. That's a good thing for all those party goers on this New Year's Eve. Temps should be in the upper 20s at the stroke of midnight.
Our weather eyes then turn to a system moving in for Thursday. This will bring a period of snow to central and eastern Kentucky and we are likely to see some accumulation. This can produce a couple of inches across our region as cold air funnels in during the day.
Friday will be a frigid one with readings near 10 degrees in the morning and close to 20 by the afternoon.
Another storm system will bring the threat of snow our way for Sunday and Monday. This will be followed by a super cold blast of air into the first half of next week. Sub-zero temperatures are a possibility.
