FDA Approves Quick Test For MRSA

The FDA has now approved a quick test for the drug-resistant staph infection.

MRSA caused several schools in Eastern Kentucky to shut down a few months ago. Now the FDA has cleared marketing for the first rapid blood test. Health care professionals will be able to identify cases in only two hours rather than two days.

The tests identified 100 percent of the MRSA positive cases.
