Hazard ARH Goes Smoke Free

As part of American Heart Month, the Hazard ARH and the UK Center for Rural Health no longer allow smoking on the property. There was a celebration in the lobby of the ARH Thursday morning to kick off the event with informational booths discouraging tobacco use.

"I've been smoke free and I love it, my children love it, and it's been wonderful and I've encouraged a lot of people in the OR," said April Caudill.

"Just began today trying to quit but I'm looking forward to the experience of stopping," said ER Paramedic Denessa Mullins.

Officials with the ARH say they hope they set a good example for other people and more places go smoke free.
