A free health clinic is making its way to Pike County at the end of the month and officials say they are expecting their trip to eastern Kentucky to be one of their biggest events across the county.
After successful trips to northern Tennessee, the Remote Area Medical Clinic, known as RAM, will be in Pikeville the last weekend of June.
Officials with RAM say more than 400 volunteers have already signed up for the event, offering dentistry, eye care, womens' health screenings, and more.
“We need to help these people that fall through the cracks, they really can't afford the health care or the insurance they don't quality for government programs like Medicaid, and there's a lot out there,” says William Collins, Dental Coordinator of Pike County RAM.
