The recent salmonella outbreak is causing many shoppers to take a second look when shopping at the grocery.
Grocery stores and local vendors say customers are asking them where they get their tomatoes from. IGA Produce Manager Jesse Thomas says the salmonella scare has prompted some out of state sellers to include paperwork to ensure their produce is safe for customers.
"That was the Department of Agriculture giving us the go ahead to sell those tomatoes, that they have been checked for salmonella and nothing had been found," Thomas said.
The FDA says so far none of Kentucky's tomatoes are affected, but they are still working to find the exact source of the outbreak.
