Updated: Sat 8:38 AM, Aug 14, 2010

The Bluegrass is getting a visit from a former president Friday.

Former President Bill Clinton is attending a benefit in Jessamine County.

It will be for the Lexington Hearing and Speech Center.

The event, which began at 6:30 p.m., is at the RJ Corman Hangar in Nicholasville.

Organizers expect a crowd of around 500 people to be on hand for the event. They say it will serve as a kickoff for a capital campaign to build a new school for the Hearing and Speech Center.

The former president suffers from hearing loss.

The Lexington Hearing and Speech Center needs to raise at least $2 million for a new building.
