The Bell County parents charged in connection to their toddlers death stand before a judge.

Reports show two year old Kayla Mosley had prescription medication in her system when she died back in March.

Her parents, Rondall Mosley and Carrie Brummett are facing a manslaughter charge.

The pair was only in court for a few minutes.

Mosley will be evaluated to see if he is competent to stand trial.
As for Brummett, she requested her pre-trial date be moved until Mosley's competency is decided.

The mother of two year old Kayla Mosley, Carrie Brummett told the judge she would not testify against her boyfriend, Rondall Mosley.
The judge granted her request to move her pre-trial date until results are back from Mosley.

Attorneys say they are still collecting and evaluating evidence from the case.

Attorneys say as of right now they will not go on camera and talk about the case because it could effect the opinion of a future jury.

Toxicology reports show the toddler died from "combined intoxication".

Police believe Kayla got a hold of prescription pills.
It's not clear how Kayla got the medication.

In an earlier interview with WYMT, officers told us they think Kayla could still be alive if her parents acted quicker.

"I think in the first few minutes if she would have received immediate medical attention, it could have made a difference," said Doyle Halcomb with Kentucky State Police.

Police say Kayla Mosley was dead for several hours before her parents, called 911.

The pair is facing a manslaughter charge because it's believed the death was unintentional.

Mosley's evaluation could take months.

So as of right now there is no set date on when the two will be back in court.
