LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Secretary of State Trey Grayson wants
Kentucky voters across the state to one day cast paper ballots
without the option of choosing a straight party ticket.
During a televised debate last night against Democratic
challenger Bruce Hendrickson, Grayson said a paper ballot would be
the best way to secure state elections.
Hendrickson, former mayor of Pineville, said paper ballots could
discourage people from voting.
Hendrickson and Grayson also differed on whether the state
should allow straight party voting. Grayson said the option
encourages voters to be lazy, while Hendrickson countered the
option should never be eliminated.
