A district judge is attacked while eating lunch.
Perry County District Judge Leigh Anne Stephens was eating at a restaurant in Airport Gardens when a man allegedly stabbed her multiple times.
Then the suspect was allegedly thrown out a window by another man who tried to help the judge.
On-lookers say Judge Stephens was just sitting at the Circle T Restaurant eating lunch by herself when a man attacked her.
The suspect's name is Ronnie Brock.
Judge Stephens says she issued a restraining order against him in a domestic violence case in 2004.
She says she has not had any contact with him since then.
It was just a normal day at the Circle T when a man allegedly stabbed Judge Stephens 5 times in the shoulder.
“Next thing I know a guy come walking past me and went at Leigh Anne and just started stabbing at her. At first I thought maybe he was just patting her on the back,” Victor Gainer said.
When patron Victor Gainer realized what the man was doing, he reacted.
“He kept stabbing at her and I just jumped up and hollered hey and he just turned around and I just grabbed the chair and threw him through the window to give Leigh Anne enough time to get away. I just threw him through the glass window,” Gainer said.
Police arrived on the scene right after that and Stephens and Brock were taken to the hospital.
Brock has since been released and was taken to the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center.
Gainer says he knew Judge Stephens, but he would've done that for anyone.
We spoke with Judge Stephens and she has been released from the hospital.
She says all of her wounds are superficial and she has no idea why this happened.
She also wanted to thank everyone at Circle T, in particular, Victor Gainer and Bruce Milton.
