A week after a man was severely beaten in broad daylight, police still do not have any suspects.
Cumberland police say no one has come forward with any information about what happened to Herbert Shepherd Junior.
Kay Creech is Shepard's cousin.
She works at a beauty shop on Main street in Cumberland.
She says Shepard was on his way to visit her at the shop... but never made it.
She believe someone knows the truth.
"I'm sure someone saw what happened... or saw people that done it to him," said Creech.
Police say they have never had a case like this and say people need to come forward.
"When we were here, there was dozens or so people around looking to see what was going on... it's hard for me to believe that 10 minutes before that someone did not see what happened here," said Mike Franks, with the Cumberland Police Department.
Shepard was released from the hospital Monday.
He was in intensive care for several days recovering from a fractured skull and other injuries.
He continues to tell police he does not remember what happened in the parking lot.
