An accident in Letcher County sends two people to the hospital.

It happened just after 6:30 tonight on U.S. 119 north in the Payne Gap Community.

Police say 30-year-old Crystal Barlow crossed the center line and hit a vehicle driven by 70-year-old Teddy Thompson ejecting him from the vehicle.

Both drivers were flown from the scene.

Barlow was taken to a Tennessee hospital and Thompson was flown to Holsten Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Police say they do suspect Barlow was under the influence of a controlled substance.

The accident is still being investigated by lieutenant Brian Damron with the Letcher County Sheriff's Office
