An Eastern Kentucky corrections officer is facing charges after he's accused of sexually abusing a female inmate.
Police say it happened at the Otter Creek Correctional Facility in Wheelwright.
Police arrested Corrections Officer George Hale late Wednesday afternoon and that's just one of two sexual misconduct investigations at the prison. Troopers say they heard more sex abuse complaints Tuesday.
Wednesday's arrest comes after a six month investigation.
Police say back in April, Hale was accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a female inmate. Police say the investigation is complete and Hale was arrested. He is charged with sexual abuse second degree and promoting contraband inside the Otter Creek Prison.
"George Hale was accused of being involved with one of the inmates with a sexual allegation, based on our investigation, based on our information we received from the crime lab, George Hale was arrested today," said Scott Hopkins with Kentucky State Police.
Hale is being held in the Floyd County Detention Center.
Police say the new sexual abuse investigation involves a different officer and a different inmate.
Otter Creek wardens say they can't comment on the arrest or the other allegations until state police finish their new investigation.
