Recent Rain Temporarily Helps Forestry Officials

This week's rain gave Eastern Kentucky firefighters a much needed break, but there's still seven weeks of forest fire season to go.

Forestry officials in the Eastern and Kentucky River Districts say even though it's been quiet all week, they want to remind people that this season is still much drier than normal.

Remember, even if you're not under a burning ban, you can not burn within 150 feet of the woods or brush between 6 am and 6 pm during the fall forest fire season.
